10th Grade Final Project

Project Description:
For your final project, you will combine applications and programs that we have been learning about during this year.  You will be using, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Corel’s PaintShop Pro X4 to create a comprehensive project based on a single theme or event.  Due to the nature of this project, we will not have any additional lessons or instructional classes for the days of May 6th through May 22nd.  (A total of 16 days.)

Due Date for Entire Final Project: May 22nd

Here is a breakdown of what your final project will consist of:

Microsoft Word: A 1000 word report on your subject or single theme of your choosing.  You will also include a cover page and a bibliography in APA format and cover all of the resources for the entire project.

Report Checklist

Corel PaintShop ProX4 : You will create a poster (8 ½ x 11”) that is directly related to your theme or subject.  You will merge 2 or more layers as well as text, together to create an image that represents what your project is about. You must turn in this part of your project as a PaintShop Pro X4 (.pspimage) file so I can see the layers, text and other aspects of the program properly.

Poster Checklist

Microsoft Excel:  You will need to use the excel program to create a spreadsheet of data which is directly linked to your report.  You will need to produce a graph that has a title section to it and displays data that is directly related to your subject.

Excel Checklist

Microsoft PowerPoint:    You will create a 10 slide presentation on your subject.  This slide presentation will be based on the information that you will have presented on your report.  Each slide will contain the following:

·         A slide transition
·         At least 4 slides will contain a picture, graphic or words that are animated
